It sounds cliché — and yet I found over and over again that the simple reason for people to not be successful at the thing they set out to do is that they never actually start.
Of course they have their reasons. The timing isn’t right. The circumstances are not ideal. There is too much other stuff going on.
The author Steven Pressfield (I already recommended his lovely book Do The Work) puts it beautifully:
On the field of The Self stand a knight and a dragon. You are the knight. Resistance is the dragon.
There truly is no better time to start then now. As a matter of fact — there will never be a better time to start than now.
My friend Aza Raskin once quipped that “the future is a renewable resource”. He is right — the beauty of the future is that you get another stab at it every morning when you roll out of bed.
