Most of us (yours truly included) love to market our stuff. We love to think about our brand, the design, the logo, the name, the story we want our products and company to tell, the way we engage and delight our customers along their journey.
And yet — it really does not matter all that much.
What matters is sales.
Getting your customers to buy your product is what makes or breaks your company. Not a beautiful logo or a great brand story.
Marketing is in service of sales. It doesn’t stand on its own — and it was never meant to.
Now pardon me — I’ve got some product to sell.
