Venture Capital is the new black. Entrepreneurs chase it like it’s Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Getting funded by a well-known VC firm has become a goal in and off itself. VCs have become rockstars who’s names founders whisper in awe and admiration.
The thing is: It is never about the money.
As good as it feels to be in the circus — the real work is being done in the trenches; building, delivering and selling solutions to our customers’ problems.
Do not fall for the glitz. Get in and out of there as fast as you can. Do the dance, get the funding you need and then get back to serving your customers.
Companies are ultimately successful because they have customers — not funding.
