This week we welcomed the 2016 class of Singularity University’s Global Solution Program to campus. Over the next ten weeks eighty of the most brilliant people from all around the world will learn about the future of technology, sharpen their leadership skills and dive into humanity’s grand challenges. All with the goal of building organizations which tackle big, intractable problems (and hopefully make the problems go away).
It’s a tall order.
While speaking to the class today, I kept asking myself: What would I do if I were in their shoes? And would I do something different to what I am doing today, if presented with the opportunity to go through a program such as SingularityU.
The mantra which kept echoing through my head was: Build something you deeply believe in. Something which makes things better. Something which challenges and grows you.
And keep pushing. Challenging the common wisdom and the status quo. Not giving a shit and doing what needs to be done.
Because if you think about it — what else matters?
