Over the last couple of weeks I have thought quite a bit about the long line of crazy (and sometimes fairly random) incidents which have led me to the place in life where I am now.
In retrospect it makes you wonder how all the things which have materialized, all the people I have met, all the jobs I took, all the opportunities which presented themselves, could have possibly shown up in the particular order they did. Which in turn allowed me to do the work I do and live the life I live today.
At Unlife we talked about this for quite a bit — as we brought a group of incredible leaders together, who all were wondering about the universe conspiring to get us to the exact spot where we needed to be.
The reason why you’re doing what you’re doing, started that company, got that funding, found that cofounder, satisfied the need of your customer is the result of thousands upon thousands of small decisions you took all along the way. And all the thousands upon thousands of decisions your parents took. And their parents.
You are meant to be here and do the work you set out to do. Now stop questioning yourself and get to work.
P.S. I started an experiment and want your feedback: I recorded my last Heretic post as a short 90 second podcast. Check it out here and let me know if you like it, you want more of, and anything else which comes to mind.
