With Thanksgiving around the corner I am reminded of a comment Rick Schmitz made during the UNLIFE retreat:
“Recognize the treasure of the moment.”
As entrepreneurs we are insanely busy. We run from meeting to meeting. We pull all-nighters to get the product done. We beg, borrow and hustle. One moment we find ourselves schmoozing a potential investor, the other we are sorting out a minor crisis with our IT infrastructure. We eat cheap food at our desks while answering customer support emails.
All this is part of the startup way. And in a lot of ways we wouldn’t want it any different.
But in the midst of the whirlwind that is a startup, we sometimes forget to stop and treasure the moment. Acknowledge how far we have come. The many wins we had on the way. The support we got from our friends and family.
Why not stop for just one moment this Thanksgiving weekend, be grateful, thankful and truly treasure the moment.
I have every intention to do just that…
