When you look at my résumé — it either looks like a complete mess or a crazy long string of amazing opportunities to you.
I often get asked how I ended up doing the things I did (and continue to do and explore).
The answer for me is simple: Firstly I do the things which I find interesting and am genuinely excited about. This generally means that these are things where I can learn (a lot). Once I believe I have learned enough — I move on.
It never made particular sense in the moment (quitting Google after 90 days? Not exactly the logical thing to do!). But it always felt like the right thing to do in that particular moment. And with hindsight I can spin this amazing story how one thing led to the other…
You can only connect the dots of how things really happened in hindsight.
What this means for you is: Don’t worry about how things look or how other people perceive them. Follow your gut, do what you believe is the right thing to do and with hindsight it will all make sense somehow.
