Want to know how to find worthwhile problems to solve? Simply start with questioning all the “common wisdom” around you.
It’s pretty crazy how much of our knowledge, routines and procedures are based on institutionalized knowledge. Once you start asking “Why” — Why are we doing things this way? Why are we doing them at all? — you gain a (often completely) different perspective on things.
“As an entrepreneur you should constantly challenge your assumptions. And the assumptions of others. Ask Why. Constantly.”
Sometimes the answer is: The current way of doing things is perfectly fine. But more often than not, you will find yourself in a terrain which is built upon assumptions and traditions. A terrain ripe for disruption. A terrain full of opportunities.
Question everything.
