As some of you know, I’m in the midst of getting POWER UP off the ground. As part of the work I find myself talking to young, ambitious millennials / Gen Y’ers on a regular basis. What strikes me is that some of them still repeat the age old mantra of “a career”.
Life was never meant to be “a career”. Careers are for people who are emotionally dead. Entrepreneurs chose to live a life with all the ups and downs.
As Alan Watts once said: “We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at the end, and the thing was to get to that end, success or whatever it is, maybe heaven after you’re dead. But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.”
Have a wonderful Sunday my dear fellow Heretics!
